VARIETY OF CHEFS | NEWCASTLE
27 August 2016 - NEwcastle city hall
join us for a delicious journey of culinary indulgence where five celebrated Australian chefs will deliver a feast for the senses at the Variety of Chefs Gala Dinner, all in support of variety - the children's charity.
Variety of Chefs is returning to Newcastle for the second year, after a sell-out event in 2015.
Hosted by TV and radio presenter, Lizzy Lovett, Variety of Chefs will take guests tastebuds on a journey of culinary delight with a decedent four course meal and premium local Hunter wines to match. It’s more than just a dining event, it’s an experience.
Guests are treated to live demonstrations and interactions with the chefs, entertainment, and exceptional food, all in support of local children in the Newcastle region with a rare disease or condition.
Variety – the Children’s Charity empowers Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs to live, laugh and learn. Variety supports over 1,200 families in need every month through the provision of vital equipment and services.
We’re aiming to raise $100,000 on the night to provide a case management service to families who have a rare disease or condition in the Newcastle region.
When a child has a rare disease, diagnosis is often difficult or extremely delayed and families can experience isolation, psychological and financial stress. The emotional burden and lack of practical support is a major issue in the treatment and management of rare diseases.
The Case Management service will tailor support plans to ensure each family’s needs are met and eases some of the pressure of taking care of a child or children with complex needs. The aim is to have each family feel confident and empowered enough to not need the support of a Case Manager anymore.
